Writing 101, Day Seven: Give and Take.
Write a post based on the contrast between two things — whether people, objects, emotions, places or something else.
Today’s twist: write your post in the form of a dialogue. You can create a strong opposition between the two speakers — a lovers’ quarrel or a fierce political debate, for example. Or you could aim to highlight the difference in tone and style between the two different speakers — your call!
The Everyday Battle
“Good Morning Sir! The time is now six A.M. in the morning”, Mr. A gladly reminded.
Ten seconds past. “Good Morning Sir! The—”
“Five more mins please?” Mr. B begged.
“It’s imperative for you wake up this very moment. A five-min-late will cause—”
“Shut it! I don’t want to hear it. I just want to go back to sleep”, replied Mr. B annoyed.
Despite Mr. B’s efforts to cover his ears with his pillow, hands —or anything he could reached for, Mr. A refuses to stop as the morning sunlight peeps from the curtains.
“If you hold the consciousness to argue with me, it means you are awake.”, Mr. A said. “There is no point asking for 5 mins more as you are not going to to fully utilize every second of it”
Turning his body to other direction. “I don’t care! Just five more mins!”, Mr. B shouted. “And don’t wake me up before it!”.
“You do realize your new instruction is contradicting with previous one, thus I will not be able to comply.”
“Stop your logical non-sense and just do what I said, five mins, FIVE!”
“This argument alone have cost 235 seconds. Should I reset or continue counting?” Mr. A asked. “There will be 65 seconds left which you will not be able—”.
Throws the pillow away and sits up-right with eyes half-closed. “Fine! You win this time.”, Mr. B replied.
Mr. B turned off the Alarm as he puts on his work-out pants and shoes.
